Jesse Carmichael To Guest On The Jimmy Star Show With Ron Russell Wednesday March 27th, 2019
Jesse Carmichael will be a featured guest on The Jimmy Star Show live radio/tv show hosted by King of Cool Jimmy Star along with Cool Man About Town Ron Russell to discuss his new short film “Thrive,” his career and the entertainment industries at large. The Jimmy Star Show is tv/radio’s coolest hit show, featuring the best in music, entertainment, fashion and pop culture, all from a fun industry insider perspective in a completely live, unedited fast-paced two-hour conversational format.
Jesse Carmichael is the keyboardist, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist in the American pop rock band Maroon 5.
Jesse is the founder of 2mm (@2minutemovies on Instagram), a short film collaborative collective. “THRIVE” was directed by brothers Shivin and Sunny, and was produced by Nupur Mehrotra. Jesse Carmichael put the film to music and became the executive producer. The film stars Kai Wes, Jewel Sales, Sage Nicole Chavis, Madisyn Mariff, Alex Ryan and Jacob Chabon.
Directors Statement
“THRIVE” is an ode to the LGBTQIA+ community across the world.
We set out to create a visual letter that juxtaposes the love shared within the community with the violence and hate inflicted by those who have not yet had the chance to share this acceptance with us.
This film is made by members of the community, for the community with the support of its’ allies. Featuring a cast of queer supporters and influencers who chose to share their stories to remind that one member of the audience that they are not alone.
Through this process, we had the honor of being mentored by Jesse Carmichael who implored us to explore the subtlety and elegance that can be achieved through visuals and music. This experience goes beyond words and went on to make this process all the more special.
The objective of this project is to entice unity, not only amongst the LGBTQIA+ community but also amongst those who support and fight alongside us.
In a time like today, love must trump hate, and this film is a reminder of that.
We will “THRIVE.”
